FAMILY

Preventative dental

All big problems start out little. If you catch them when they’re small, you improve the chances of them not growing into problems at all.

At Claremont Dental we encourage you and your family (especially the ankle biters) to drop in for regular examinations. It’s nothing scary – just a check to make sure your teeth and gums are in tiptop condition, as well as a thorough professional dental clean. Your kids aged 5 and under can have their exam for free !

We’ll be checking for things like:

Tooth decay

Cracking

Periodontal (gum) disease

Oral cancers

Damage or deterioration of previous dental work.

If we spot something unusual, we’ll let you know and draw up a plan to nip it in the bud. We recommend photos and radiographs to help us make a better diagnosis – but of course, that’s up to you.

Restorative dental

For many of us, life often gets in the way of taking care of our bodies, leading to worn, decayed, damaged or missing teeth. Over time, we can get into a groove and start settling for subpar, accepting it as just ‘how we are’. Yet being the best versions of ourselves is when we really shine – you won’t believe the emotional and physical benefits that #openup when you restore your body to its optimal form.

At Claremont Dental, our expert, hands-on dentists perform two types of dental restorations to help you get your shine back. Direct restorations can be completed in one visit by placing a filling (restoration) into a carefully prepared cavity on your tooth. Indirect restoration involves replacement of part of your tooth with a custom fabricated crown, onlay or inlay. This requires at least two appointments, usually with two weeks in between.

Endodontic

Also known as root canal therapy, this type of treatment is designed to preserve a tooth that has become badly decayed or infected. It involves removing the nerve and pulp, before cleaning and sealing the tooth.

Endodontic treatment involves several stages. Depending on the condition of the tooth, a new crown might be necessary to preserve functionality and longevity. Should you require root canal, our friendly, helpful dentists will be completely open about all the ins and outs, including cost, so you know what you’re up for, upfront.

Child Dental Benefit Schedule

Beautiful, healthy smiles start at a young age – and it’s never been easier to help them kick-start healthy habits. Professional dental healthcare is more accessible for some families, thanks to the Child Dental Benefits Schedule. Just make sure you have your letter of approval with you at the appointment, along with your Medicare card.

Eligibility is assessed and determined at the beginning of every calendar year by the Department of Human Services, so please check with them for all the up-to-date information.
